Trailer: The Boy And The Beast From Director Mamoru Hosoda

One of the front-runners in the race to become Japan's next king of anime is Mamoru Hosoda, the man who directed The Girl Who Leapt Through Time, Summer Wars and Wolf Children. All of these films won Best Animation at the Japanese Academy Awards, and were international hits. 

Hosoda's new film, The Boy And The Beast, is therefore easily one of the most hotly anticipated animated features of the year. It tells the story of a boy brought up by a mythical creature; and if the trailer is anything to go by, it is yet another amazing film full of wonderful drama and exciting adventures. 

The Boy And The Beast will open in Japan on July 11.
